Dr. Best is a clinical psychologist and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She serves as the Director of the Preparedness, Response, and Recovery Division of the National Mass Violence Victimization Resource Center.
