2024 Virtual Summit

Fundamentals of Mass Violence Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Resilience

Wednesday, July 17 - 9:00 am to 4:30 pm EDT

Every community in our nation should be prepared for mass violence.

You’re invited to join the first-of-its-kind National Virtual Summit to learn evidence-based fundamentals of mass violence preparation, response, recovery, and resilience. You’ll hear the power of the personal stories of survivors; lessons learned from civic, community, and state leaders who’ve experienced the devastation of a mass violence incident; and practical tips to collaborate and create effective mass violence plans that are survivor-centered and address the behavioral and mental health needs of victims and communities.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free virtual summit, which will be especially beneficial to crime survivors; local, state, tribal, and national victim services and behavioral/mental health providers; law enforcement and justice professionals; emergency management officials; civic and community leaders; and anyone who recognizes the importance of partnerships to prepare for mass violence incidents.

ASL Interpretation will be provided for the Virtual Summit.

This virtual conference is sponsored by the National Mass Violence Center and the National Center for Victims of Crime with support from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office for Victims of Crime and hosted by the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
